Why I Took a Blogging Break (and What’s Coming Next at Northwoods Oasis)
Life moves fast up here in the blogging world. And sometimes, it’s worth stepping back to ask: Is this still working?
That’s what I’ve been doing over the past few weeks.
Not because I’ve run out of ideas (far from it!). But because I want to make sure I’m writing the kind of content that actually helps my readers in everyday, practical ways.
After building Northwoods Oasis over the past few years, I’ve written nearly 50 posts, built seasonal Pinterest traffic, and connected with so many of you who want a simpler, more grounded home and garden life – just like Randy and me here in Birchwood lake country.
But the online world is changing fast.
And if I’m being honest, I don’t want to just crank out content to keep up with trends or search engines
I want to offer real tools that make seasonal homemaking and Northwoods-style living easier, relaxing, and more fun – wherever you are.
So I’ve taken a short break to rethink how I can offer more value.

What’s Coming Next
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be rolling out a new kind of resource here at Northwoods Oasis: printable tools you can use right away.
Here’s a peek at what I’m working on:
- The Northwoods Summer Home & Garden Checklist
A one-page printable to help you keep up with summer tasks — from porch sweeping and garden watering to remembering the bug spray before company arrives. - The Simple Seasonal Planner (Quarterly Edition)
A fillable or printable mini-planner with space for to-dos, meals, weather notes, garden maintenance, and a weekly reminder or quote to help keep life on track (without overwhelm).
These are the kinds of practical helpers I’ve wished I had over the years — and now I’m making them for us both. 😎
Stay tuned!
And hey – if you’re not already on the Northwoods Oasis email list, why not sign up here so you don’t miss the first releases?
As always, thank you for being here.
