Do you have an exotic pet that you are no longer able to care for?

J&R Animal Rescue will be accepting fish, invertebrates, reptiles, pet birds, small mammals, and plants–no questions asked.

There will be animal ambassadors you can meet and learn about and a photo booth where you can take your picture with a rescued pet!

Program Fee: Free
Location: Richard Grand Recreation Hall, Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary
No registration required.

  • Meet Our Animal Ambassadors: Join us for an exciting opportunity to meet unique animal ambassadors and discover their amazing stories.
  • Capture Joyful Moments: Don’t forget to stop by the J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue photobooth. Snap some memorable pictures with our adorable rescued pets!
  • We Welcome Various Pets: Bring your fish, invertebrates, reptiles, pet birds, small mammals, and plants. We’re here to help, no questions asked.
  • Note on Domestic Pets: Please note, we are not able to accept dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, and chickens. For these domestic animals, local shelters or rescues may offer rehoming options.
  • What Happens to Surrendered Pets?: After a short quarantine, all surrendered pets will be lovingly prepared for adoption. For their safety, please transport them in a secure container.
  • Convenient Facilities: Need a break? Restrooms are available for your comfort in the Upper Level of the Richard Grand Recreation Hall.
  • Easy Access for Everyone: We’ve ensured easy access! The event is just a short stroll along a paved path to the Upper Level of the Richard Grand Recreation Hall.
  • Questions? Get in Touch!: For any inquiries about the Exotic Pet Surrender Event, feel free to reach out to John Moyles at J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue via adoptions@jraar.org. Let’s join hands for a brighter future for these extraordinary animals!
