Winter Greenhouse Bareroot Days

April 25 April 27 CDT

Happy greenhouse worker woman.

The 2024 greenhouse season gets going with the Winter Greenhouse’s three-day Bareroot Sale. Staff are looking forward to seeing the customers again!

As always, during this sale, all bareroot nursery stock is sold at 25% off the regular potted price. The sale includes most of Winter Greenhouse’s ornamental trees, fruit trees and shrubs.

In addition, some of their small fruits and roses come bareroot and are also 25% off the regular price.

The Winter Greenhouse has found that bare root plants thrive when planted in the cool spring weather. They are also much easier to handle than container grown plants! They can be stored safely for at least a week, provided they are kept moist and cool.

The Winter Greenhouse’s staff is available to provide care information and handouts, which customers will hopefully find very useful. The knowledgeable staff can answer any additional questions on planting and pruning, or choosing the right plants for a location.

For highlights and details on some of the new 2024 varieties, customers can refer to the Winter Greenhouse’s plant catalog for photos and a complete listing.

In addition to the wide selection of bareroot plants, there are many trees and shrubs that are available in containers only. These include all evergreens and a few other trees and shrubs.

In the catalog, any nursery item listed without a “Ct” will be available on Bareroot Days. After April 30th, everything will be potted up into containers.

Even though it may still be a little cool outside, the greenhouses are already full. New plants are making their debuts. Discover new varieties in different colors, with improved hardiness, garden performance, better disease resistance and more controlled growing habits.

If a plant is purchased for home, just be aware that it may need to be kept in a warm area until the danger of frost has passed.
